Summary
Fridge Triticale is a tall facultative variety that has excellent winter survivability, and is widely adapted to all cereal growing areas of the U.S. This variety is known for its strong stems, dark green foliage, and long awnletted heads.
Fridge has very good early growth which gives it excellent ground covering ability and weed suppression. It also has an extremely aggressive and deep root system that will scavenge nitrogen and pull it back up to the soil surface. Fridge handles heavy grazing pressure and has better protein levels than its parents Rye and Durum. Fridge is an excellent choice for use as pasture, hay, haylage, and as a cover crop component.
