TURF SAVER RTF FESCUE WITH HGT BLUEGRASS

#2287

Summary

Combining all the strengths and benefits of RTF (rhizomatous tall fescue) and HGT Kentucky bluegrass, it is ideal for home lawns, golf course roughs and many other applications. 93% tall fescue / 7% HGT bluegrass (performs as a traditional 90/10 ratio: higher ratio of fescue to bluegrass is due to much smaller physical size of the HGT bluegrass seed vs. a traditional bluegrass.)

How to Use & Apply

In Oklahoma, seeding of fescue is done as daytime temperatures begin to decline and soil temperatures (60º F) begin to cool, most typically in mid-September. Prepare a smooth firm seedbed free of weeds, sticks and large clods. Plant at 1/4 of an inch deep, or broadcast and pack or lightly rake seed in. The soil should be kept moist but not to the point of standing water. Under ideal conditions, germination should take place within 10-14 days. pH levels in the soil should range between 6.5 and 8.0. RTF prefers a sandy loam soil that is well drained but will grow in just about any soil type to which it’s introduced. In the spring, a soil test may be done to determine the soil pH and fertility recommendations.
